It was considered the best urban rehabilitation in Portugal in the Tourism category.

The rehabilitation of an old derelict factory in Campanhã, in the city of Porto, won the National Urban Rehabilitation Award this Wednesday, in the Tourism category. The work was carried out by the construction company Grupo Casais, headquartered in Mire de Tibães, in the municipality of Braga.

What was once an old electrical components factory from the 1980s, located in a severely degraded area near the Campanhã train station, has been transformed into a four-star hotel with a unique theme, clearly focusing on culture and music as key attractions for tourists visiting the northern region of the country.

Following the cadastral records of the existing buildings and confirming that the structures could be reused, the project, led by Arquitetos Aliados + Susana Leite, preserved the main façade of the building, maintaining its industrial style facing the street, and adhered to regulatory distances from adjacent buildings.

In addition to the listed facilities, the venue also includes a meeting and conference room, a workspace and co-working area, a performance hall, a cinema room, a library/phonotheque, music rehearsal rooms, dressing rooms, a vegetable garden, a swimming pool, and gardens.
